Get ready for a day at the races!
The Royal River Challenge consists of three seperate solo races. 6 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour races take place on a fast, flat, half-mile former horse track at the beautiful New Gloucester Fairgrounds. This is your chance to log mileage like never before!
Race organizers will provide water and some typical Ultra food. Tripp's Farmhouse food truck will have food for sale Saturday afternoon. Racers are responsible for their own nutrition.
Each racer will be allotted a 12' x 12' "camp site" for their own use during the race. These sites will be first come first serve. No open flames and no dogs will be allowed.
All racers will take to the track at noon on Saturday June 29 and will complete as many laps around the track as possible in their allotted race time. Racers finishing a lap before their 6, 12, or 24 hour cutoff will have the opportunity to complete one last lap. All racers will change direction on the track every 3 hours.
The winners will be the racers who complete the highest number of laps. If there is a tie in the number of laps, the racer who completes those laps in the least amount of time will be named the winner.
Awards will be given to the top male and female in each race. Any runners who complete 100 miles will receive a custom Royal River Challenge belt buckle!
